86 an hour 17 hours ago 17 hours ago 17 hours ago The overall goal for a Front Desk position within Springfield Family Physicians is welcoming patients into our clinic and making them feel comfortable, safe, and cared for.
The front desk is the first encounter a patient has when walking through the doors, so it is essential that staff is always on task, friendly and helpful.
Primary responsibilities/everyday tasks:
While in the check-in process, making sure to verify all patient information necessary; i.
e.
phone number, address, emergency contact, insurance information, paperwork needed etc.
Taking patient co-pays; verifying the co-pay amount listed on their insurance card, posting the payment, selecting payment method (cash, card, or check) in the patients chart, and printing a receipt for our file, and for theirs.
( for card payments, it will ask for a signature for payment authorization) Scanning the office to make sure the lobby area is clean and tidy at all times Being responsible for your own locked cash drawer, and at the end of each day running your daily report to make sure all payments were posted, and correct Greeting all patients as they walk in, in a kind and welcoming manner Knowing how to help a patient who walks in, regardless of their request Verifying insurance eligibility Handling un-happy/un-pleasant patients professionally and respectfully, always representing Springfield Family Physicians as you do so Knowing how to schedule appointments face-to-face, and over the phone in a timely and quality manner.
Being aware of adjustments to providers' schedules (i.
e.
vacations, days off, sick days, shift switching, Saturdays etc.
) Managing requests for double books, add on's, etc.
Schedule adjustments and fine tuning:
rescheduling patient appointments as needed:
reviewing the day, and continuing to do so throughout the day so no preventable mistakes are missed Knowing individual providers' specific appointment time scales, preferences, days off, what they are and aren't able to do/preform Having correct knowledge of all Springfield Family Physicians clinic locations; addresses, phone numbers, hours of operation, staff onsite etc.
Additional tasks:
Working with your coworkers to ensure smooth communication throughout Having knowledge of where all staff is located, and how to reach them if necessary Always thinking ahead if you have any down time.
Think of things you can do to help yourself.
e.
fill printers with paper, organize the lobby, tidy up your desk area etc.
Scanning completed paperwork in-to patients charts Answering incoming calls when the operator may be over-flowed with calls Assisting in other departments due to illness, vacation, staff shortage etc.
Ability to perform other duties or projects as requested by management Skills needed:
Accurate typing/keyboarding, spelling & basic computer skills Friendly, kind & hardworking Takes initiative to stay focused & stay busy Communication & detail oriented Medical office experience/medical terminology preferred Pro-active & willing Knowledge and demonstration of HIPAA rules & regulations Physical requirements:
Must be able to work at a computer 90-95% of an eight-hour shift.
Able to repetitively stand up and sit down throughout an eight-hour shift Must be able to hear alarms and phones Able to lift up to 10# infrequently.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
