In alignment with Lane County's Strategic Plan, and to improve recruitment, selection, retention, and advancement of underrepresented groups in Lane County, the following internship will be offered to Lane County residents, undergraduate, and graduate students with particular emphasis on providing pathways for historically underrepresented individuals to professional careers at Lane County. Historically underrepresented groups may include but are not limited to first generation college students, low-income students, students who identify as LGBTQ+, students of color, veterans, and students with disabilities.
About the Position:

Data Entry Internship

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a talented and passionate team!
This summer internship position will provide data entry support and pediatric outreach support for our Community Health Centers. Duties may include but are not limited to:
data entry, reviewing spreadsheets, typing data into patient medical records, validating accuracy of data in medical record, and making phone calls to patients to schedule appointments. Interns should possess attention to detail, outgoing customer services skills to speak with patients on the phone, and ability to accurately data entry information provided.
About the Division
At Community Health Centers of Lane County, we have adopted a model of primary care called Patient Centered Medical Home. Our services are organized around care teams who work collaboratively to support our patients. Our integrated care teams include primary care providers, nurses, medical assistants, patient care coordinators and behavioral health specialists. This model of primary care prioritizes the patient, who has increased access to other services beyond general medical care at our clinics. Our care teams also help patients reach their optimal health status by addressing social determinants of health barriers to care such as transportation, food insecurity, or housing.
Schedule:
This position will work 20 hours a week, between the hours of Monday - Friday, 8:
00am - 5:
00pm.
Extra help positions are eligible to work up to 520 hours in the fiscal year July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
This is a non-represented position.


Qualifications:

  • Basic computer, reading and writing skills.
  • Passion for health equity.

Responsibilities:
  • Data entry and auditing.
  • Expectation to design a manageable internship schedule with your supervisor and commit to your shifts.
  • Perform administrative or research support including compiling data, laying out and organizing materials.

This position is subject to a full criminal offender information record check. If fingerprinting is required, the fee is paid for by the successful candidate and the expense is non-reimbursable.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
