Senior Database Administrator

Provide leadership for database development, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to all PacificSource departments and subsidiaries. Assist other Information Technology staff with database-related tasks.
1. Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft SQL databases and transformation packages.
2. Install and maintain DBMS server software. Manage and champion upgrade processes.
3. Recommend and implement modifications and improvements to existing databases to increase performance, user-friendliness, and stability.
4. Interpret user requests on database changes, updates, and restores; perform appropriate actions.
5. Handle source control and configuration management issues.
6. Responsible for data security and integrity, including strategies, implementation, and staff education.
7. Responsible for DB backup and restoration in the event of disaster or as assistance to staff.
8. Advise developers in database table design, champion development and design standards.
9. Serve as database technology and strategy evangelist.

2. Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work
Experience: Minimum 5 years intensive experience working with modern DBMS tools as a DBA. Experience with Microsoft T-SQL stored procedures, configuration management and source control ( la Microsoft Visual SourceSafe), performance management, creation and management of DTS and ETL packages.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registration: AA or BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of well-rounded education and experience. System vendor certifications such as MSDE, MCDBA, or similar required.
Knowledge: Ability to respond to common inquiries and effectively present information to a variety of groups. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with others as well as independently. Database normalization skills. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and other common office software tools, including
Microsoft Office. Interest in ongoing training and learning about technology. Position is standard work hours, but also requires availability for off-hours activities, including deployments, troubleshooting, and maintenance. DBMS: Microsoft SQL Server, ODBC, DTS programming. Microsoft VB or a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic math skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 5% of the time. May require some activity outside normal working hours. Requires ability to be on-call.

Light lifting and carrying of files and business materials. Ability to read and comprehend both written and spoken English. Communicate clearly and effectively.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
